Brothers and sisters in Christ,

Since July 2009, I have been appointed as pastor to Hoquiam United Methodist Church.  What a privilege it has been!  This truly is a congregation that seeks out to live the United Methodist motto of “Open hearts. Open Minds, Open Doors”!  Moreover, it has added the distinction of officially becoming a reconciling congregation, by which members extend their welcome to persons with different sexual orientations fully in the life of the church.  Years ago, someone wrote in one of the church’s publications that Hoquiam UMC sought to be a church in the heart of the harbor for the hearts of the people.  This is a small congregation with a big heart which, in following Christ, seeks to welcome each and every one of God’s children as a unique human being and to remind each and every one that God loves him or her. 

In scripture, Jesus described Himself as one who came to give us life, abundantly. (John 10:10).  It is this abundant life, for every one, which we seek to share and celebrate.  And if you do not yet have a church home, we invite you to come and share this with us.
